Are these ideas for the site? I'd love to be able to create paint or snapshots, but I don't think these exist?

Yes! That's exactly what the Ideas forum is for - suggesting functionality that should be added or tweaked. I suspect that suggestions with lots of discussion and people saying 'ooo, yes! this please' are more likely to be implemented sooner/implemented at all than those that are mostly ignored by the community.

If you like those ideas, leaving comments to that effect on their respective posts would be a great way to boost them. :o)
