Glitchwidth Supporter Poll

ETA: Please note that if you want a batch of supplies to be considered a donation, you need to leave a message with jjhunter's butler accordingly! Donated basic supplies are redistributed to regular Glitchwidth suppliers for use as ingredients; revenue for donated supplies for Pub floor sale is reinvested in items like furniture for Glitchwidth and items requested as alternative payment by regular suppliers that jjhunter can't supply herself (and thus buys at auction when the price is good). Bags that are dropped off with jjhunter's butler should be titled 'Glitchwidth [YourGlitchUsername]' to ensure they are returned to you.

ETA2 11/14: I'm closing the poll to save it for posterity.

===
Remember, in the context of Glitchwidth 'regular' vs. 'occasional' suppliers are defined accordingly:
  • Regular: drops off/trades batches of supplies 1-2+ times a week
  • Occasional: drops off/trades batches of supplies 1-3 times a month

People who need and want currants for supplying Glitchwidth are encouraged to supply $FancyDrink (highest priced items offered on Pub Floor):

1 full stack $FancyDrink (24) = 1800 c
2 full stacks $FancyDrink (48) = 3600 c
3 full stacks $FancyDrink (72) = 5400 c

For comparison:
1 full stack hooch (24) = 240 c
2 full stacks hooch (48) = 480 c
3 full stacks hooch (72) = 720 c
4 full stacks hooch (96) = 960 c
5 full stacks hooch (120) = 1200 c

1 full stack Awesome Stew (12) = 600 c

1 full stack Rich Tangine Stew (12) = 480 c

etc.

(Note that those supplying food who opt for alternative repayment will often get a combination of items whose cumulative Encylopedia currant worth exceeds what they would have gotten for straight currants. Pricing for $FancyFood may change in the future after public discussion/agreement on [community profile] glitchwidth, but is based partially on the fact that [personal profile] jjhunter is the primary supplier for $FancyFood.)

I may have to adjust my answers in a while; I'm guessing.

I don't know that I need "payment" at all, although getting the raw materials that have to be bought at vendors would be nice. I didn't check many foods because I don't have a couple of the higher cooking skills; I'm focusing on getting the long-time skills first. (1 more week to T'port 5 finishing. Woot. Then maybe I should get Engineering so I can do that construction-y stuff.)

I have a houseful of OMGSTUFF!!! and have reached the "so... what next?" part of the game. I've explored every place publicly accessible (except 4 of the new dinosaur innards), and a handful of secret/hidden places. I have no quests available; I expect to get a few more as I learn skills, and whatever ones get added to the game, but otherwise, I'm directionless. I have enough IMG to start a tower but I'm not sure there's a point yet. (Also, I can't build wall parts.)

Having a *reason* to make drinks and foods would be great. Since I get iMG for making them, as long as they don't cost currants, I'm mostly fine. Drinks/foods that take oils, beer, honey, birch syrup... those I can't resupply from the homestreet routes.

(OTOH, maybe getting paid something for them, currants or trade, will keep me motivated to make & donate. I dunno. Right now, I'm ready to just throw stacks of drinks and supplies at Glitchwidth, because apparently I'm horribly lonely and was tired of wandering around all alone with no purpose.) (Payment in "helpers to rebuild the herb garden in my back yard when it breaks" would be awesome. I can't make boards; I've been buying them at auction.)

Things we might do:
Party gatherings with lots of stacks of low-value foods, for mid- to high-level players who haven't eaten them in a while (or ever) so they'll get IMG from eating them.

Tinkertool loaning so everybody doesn't need their own 2nd Tinkertool to repair their first one.

Quest-buddy coordinating. Feat-buddy coordinating.

Ferrying: Dropping in to say "I'm going to Nottis to harvest ice" or "heading to Kloro for quoin-hopping" and offering to bring others along. (I will never get tired of the sharding parties in Madhur Hathur, lag be damned.)

For the crops I might need, I'm not sure at this point as I'm infrequently in game due to balancing school with free time. So just whatever someone has available would be fine. I'll make it work. :)

I have nearly two full bags worth, and I get at least four every new day THE PERKS <--??? OF HAVING ALL THE UPGRADES I GUESS. I was just gonna drop you off a bag but the butler is full.

How much would you like in a single drop-off? I did one stack of each last time but can do more. Also, if your butler is full, would you be okay with us mailing a gift box instead? (Don't think we can mail bags.)

As clarification, while beer and hooch are nice, what I really prefer are the basic resources I checked off (bubbles, allspice, gas). I don't need full amounts of ingredients to cover all the drinks I make, just some supplements, as I get lazy about harvesting. And if you're running low on supplies to give out, I'd much prefer currants to drink supplies as I am saving up for the super rare cubimals!

I suggest building a machine room with a regular supply of fuel cells and am happy to donate machine parts + supply fuel cells if you go with the idea.

I'm part of the DW group in-game. I'm not yet used to the forums-and-groups thing.

And oops. I just checked. I don't have Coctail Crafting II, and can't make a couple of the drinks yet. Will edit answers.

Apparently I can make Awesome Stew, though. (Use enough awesome pot; learn to make awesome stew. Yay.) Going bean harvesting now.

Other things to do:
Ghost Tours.
Suicide parties. (No-No Powder, big stacks of foods to mix or rocks to grind, collect Hell Wine.)
Street Visits -- help everyone get that "2500+ IMG in a day" badge.

(Apolline) I don't think I can check any of the answers. I would have checked occasional but that's a commitment too (and a long one at that) and I don't want to say I'll do something and not do it. Also payment depends on what I need at the time (and what you have). So waiting for the Wildcard poll?

Part of what participating in the last several Feats taught me was what kind of activities can be shared by *everyone* and what kinds skew towards higher levels.

The "mining sparkly" feat was a bust. Low-level players *can* mine, but it's slow and not-fun for them. The "say hi to people" feat was a win; *everyone* can say Hi. Quests were troublesome... everyone can do a few quests, but low-level players didn't have enough resources to do many.

While high-level players get much more efficient at some things (harvesting is just spooky fast), some things don't get much easier (I can make larger batches of food at a time, but most of them cost the same energy), and some things just need willing people to be involved. There's badges for PMing people, and some of us feel creepy going up to complete strangers and PMing them with "Hi! I'm doing this to get a badge!" (I received one of those. It was weird.)

And there's projects to fix in back yards, where we'd like some level of security because that involves letting people into your house.

My Glitch time varies wildly (right now it's low because NaNo) but like I said: I have every skill and can make anything. Resources I tend to be short on vary with the day and my current kick of stuff-I'm-making. So. Uh. It depends??

...can I ask a really stupid question... How do you mail things? I've clicked on my butler, on other people's butlers, and on the mailbox thingies and don't see anything that looks right. /fail

[personal profile] jjhunter I have things for you! But your butler can't take more packages right now and I clearly fail at knowing how to mail things.

I also fail at reading because I keep confusing tasty pasta and tangy noodles in my head.

You go to a mailbox or your butler, and there should be a button that looks like a note with a pen on it that you can click on to write a new message. When you do, you can attach something from your inventory to the message.

Hope that helps!

All of your ideas for things to do sound awesome! One thing though ... I'd love to do a ghost tour that's for people who have finished the quest but want to see all of the other ghosts they couldn't see before they got their faded heart. Most of the tours I've seen seems to be geared towards people who haven't finished the quest yet. I mean, I think that a ghost tour could do both things at once, but since I've finished the quest (while doing a ghost tour of one), I'd be more interested in going to see all of the other ghosts.

And I love the street visit idea! The street visiting feat has been my favorite so far (though I haven't been around for very many feats yet).

I saw below that you couldn't purchase machine parts yet, and since I had an extra set of machines (I was originally thinking of putting them somewhere in my house but since I already have a full set out on my home street, I don't mind donating them!), I went ahead and assembled them on the third floor of Glitchwidth. But if you want to put them elsewhere in the tower, just let me know! I am happy to disassemble and reassemble them at your pleasure, if you don't have the Engineering skills yet. :)

Yes, I already have the Firebog Street Spirit one, but thanks! The four I'm missing are all incredibly expensive (Rook, Rube, Hell's Bartender, Scion of Purple), so I expect it'll be quite a while yet before I finish my collection.

Should be able to send you more batches of drinks this weekend! :D

re: your preferred payment/alternative payments would also be useful, but having one place where I can double-check who's who is the most important part.

Preferred payment was described as being for regular/occasional suppliers but I've answered anyway.

I checked "occasional" for fancy drinks and hooch as in "if I see that we don't have any in stock, I'll make some and drop it off" but mostly I am all about the construction since I have all the skills (except blockmaking) and it's pretty time consuming.
